will we need a car?

I%26#39;m taking my mom to San Diego for five days is early Oct. I used to live there so I%26#39;m a bit acquainted with things. We have 2 nights at the Best Western in Pacific Beach and two nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Old Town. Our destinations are the beach(we%26#39;ll take a cab or shuttle from the airport) Sea World(the hotel has a shuttle to that). OLd Town (we%26#39;ll be right there) gaslight district , Coronado and hopefully Balboa Park.

Can we get to Coronado on a trolley or cab? Friends will met us there and take us back to the hotel.

Can you take the Old Town Trolley and get off and then stay someone an hour or so and get back on?

Can we get to Balboa Park without a car?

Thanks

You can get to Coronado via a cab over the Coronado bridge, or by the passenger ferry downtown at the Embarcardero, it runs back and forth pretty much all day long until about 10 PM

The Old Town Trolley is a bus tour that takes you around San Diego - and you can get on and off of that at various stops. Maybe you mean the trolley (train) that connects Old Town and downtown and the Gaslamp District - you can get on and off as much as you want, you just need to buy the appropriate tickets.

You can get to Balboa Park by cab, or you can walk from downtown, but it%26#39;s about 2 miles, or there is a city bus that will drop you off at Balboa Park, although I don%26#39;t know the exact route number.

Also, if you take the Old Town Trolley (bus) tour, you can get off and back on at both Balboa Park and Coronado.
