What nice hotels (3 stars or higher) are convenient to San Diego%26#39;s public transportation to the tourist sites? We will be there 4 days depending on public transport only.
San Diego without a car
Dowtown is a great place to stay - basically all hotels in the downtown/Gaslamp area are convenient to the trolley (train) and downtown buses, and downtown ferry service to Coronado.
Checkout www.gaslamp.org or www.thebigbay.com for hotels in downtown and the Gaslamp District (basically same area) - some recommendations: Marriott Marina and Hyatt Grand on the bay, Omni, Prava and Solamar in the Gaslamp

Any of the hotels down on the harbor, the Hyatt and Marriot are great... also there%26#39;s a new one near the ballpark, forget the name of it, but I hear its nice, and some of the Padre players are renting apartments there.
Anywhere downtown will be within walking distance of the trolley, buses, and the Coaster.
