You picked a great place to stay! I stayed at the Chancellor hotel for a week about 2 weeks ago. Great location, staff, etc. When you say that you have booked the evening tour for Thursday night, are you meaning Alcatraz? You didn%26#39;t make that clear. If you didn%26#39;t, then you should book Alcatraz on the blueandgoldfleeet.com website. Also, there is Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf, Pier 39 and Ghiradelli. You can walk around all 3 of these places in about 1/2 a day, depending on how much time you want to spend. Also, Sausalito was a great little area. You can take the same ferry over there that you would take to Alcatraz. It costs about 7.50 one way or 15.00 round-trip. We just went over there and had lunch and walked around looking in the shops and then came back. Again, you can spend as much time as you would like there.

What else do you like to do? You are in a perfect location to get to and from everywhere in the city really easy. Let us know what else you are interested in.

Sorry Aggie - yes thats what i meant - the Alcatraz trip!! Would just like to get reasonable feel of the city - Nob Hill/Cable Cars and the like...it is good to hear your positive comments re chancellor. Did you go out to Muir Woods? Any good bars/restaurants to recommend?

The ferry to Sausalito leaves from The ferry building as well, end of Market. They have done alot with this area over the years. You can also get a ferry to Tiburon. If you have already done Sausalito, try Tiburon. It is smaller but nicer than Sausalito. Eat lunch at Sams. There are less tourists and more locals. Angel island is very nice if you want to hike.

much of Sausalito is on the waterfront (kayaking, sculling, saliling or wonderful bout out of the way ';Fish'; restaurant)....

or walking up all the different sets of stesp and seeing the scenary from above, plus the variety of homes and the side street of Caledonia where locals go has Thai, Indian, Japanese and several Italian places to eat. For such a tiny town we have many places for night music with no charge.. even casual Cafe Trieste... hop you all will come back and visit.

No i am not in the hospitality biz, just love the many things to do in town

Thanks a lot for your information - Sausalito and Tiberon now on the agenda!!
