My boyfriend and I will be visiting LA this weekend and I%26#39;d like to take him out to dinner for his birthday, some where intimate/romantic. Anyone got any restuarants in mind?
Romantic Dinner For Two
i think cafe la boheme is very romantic, has kind of a gothic/dracula vibe to it.
for very nice and very expensive, l%26#39;orangerie is great.
Romantic Dinner For Two
Geoffreys in Malibu
Tra Di Noi in Malibu
Chez Mimi in Brentwood
Cafe Delfini in Santa Monica Canyon
Valentino in LA
Lillys in Venice (and very reasonably priced)
Primativo in Venice (outside is romantic)
Joes in Venice (all 3 are on Abbot Kinney)
Hi, it would help to know where you guys are staying since a romantic dinner followed by a long-drive home defeats the purpose of the evening.
We%26#39;re staying at the Downtown LA Mariott
cicada is a nice restaurant downtown.
The Water Grill is also very nice.
Do NOT go to Chez Mimi. The food has gone seriously downhill. I live right off 26th street so I used to go there almost weekly, but I have not gone back in a while both because the food is bad...and because they sent my father a bill after my grandfather had passed away...knowing that he both paid before hand..and that he died. Just to make an extra 200 bucks off my passed grandfather. We used to be very friendly with Mimi, but she has since gotten egotistical and her food quality has seriously slipped.
Geoffry%26#39;s is the most romantic, assuming that the weather is good. Technically there is no indoor seating, and most seats overlook the ocean, truly magnificient. Thats where I would go. If not, the restaurants on Abbott-Kinney are great walk down later to this amazing dessert place..they are truly works of art, i cant remember what it is called...anyone know it?
oh ya, and rent a convertible..that makes the drive romantic ;-) just my advice.
Valentinos is good too..used to have one of the best wine lists in los angeles.
I second Geoffreys... lovely. Service is a little rushed though....
Thanks for all your suggestions everyone :-)
I already rented the convertible, even got basball tickets, I plan on making it one bday he%26#39;ll never forget ;-)
