How Much can dim sum cost?

How Much can dim sum cost? I just finished reading a review about Yank Sing Restaurant ';if all the forces are with you and you just got paid, (or found someone else to cover the bill) this will be a most enjoyable experience.'; I also found a similar comment about

Ton Kiang. I%26#39;m from the New York Metro area going for dim sum means you%26#39;l be $15.00 poorer at and stuffed when you leave.

In 2003, my husband and I had dim sum at New Asia Restaurant.

It was $12.00 for the both of us and we were stuffed!

I%26#39;ve had dim sum at the nicer places both here and on the Peninsula and it can set you back $30. I%26#39;ve eaten at Ton Kiang and Yank Sing, and frankly don%26#39;t remember how much I paid, but it%26#39;s in the higher price category.

However, if you want to get dim sum, it doesn%26#39;t have to cost that much, and there are plenty of places in Chinatown that don%26#39;t. The previous poster who mentions New Asia Gardens at $12 is one example. This is a bustling Chinatown place; if you want something outside of Chinatown, you can try City View, on the edge of Chinatown and the Financial District.

3 people at Yank Sing being VERY careful $110. 6 people at Ton Kiang not being carefulll at all $140

I ate at Yank Sing before but not impressed. It%26#39;s one of those nice places that tend to charge more for average quality of food.

If you want a more authentic experience, go to Gold Mountain Restaurant on Broadway. Or any place that is croweded with Chinese people.

Another place with great dim sum is in Berkeley, East Ocean Restuarant by the water. Probably too far from downtown San Francisco. Also May Flower Lounge on Geary Blvd of Richmond district.

Have a nice trip!

On Jackson St btwn Grant Ave and Kearny St, on the right hand side of the street as you walk downhill. There are two almost right next to each other, one of the names I thought was Pearl City, the other was Great Eastern, the places are kinda narrow, but deep.
