Fish Camp - Owl's Nest Lodges - Ponderosa Cabin

I%26#39;ve currently got accommodation booked in Yosemite Lodge for October. Having now read some reviews I%26#39;m thinking of cancelling and staying outside the park. Fish Camp caught my eye, especially Owl%26#39;s Nest Lodges. It looks great from the pictures but I%26#39;ve read a few reviews on this site and am extremely confused. There were a couple of positive reviews, some reviews had been removed but I don%26#39;t know why, and some negative reviews from people saying not to stay there but not giving specific reasons.

Has anyone experience of this place or would you recommend somewhere else in Fish Camp?

Hi! We really like the Tenaya Lodge @ Yosemite. You can do a word search for the property. It is a four-star destination resort. Two swimming pools, two restaurants, gift shops, gorgeous lobby. Highly recommend this place and enjoy Yosemite! :)

Yosemite Lodge is basically a motel. You pay premium to be inside the park, period. It is run by a concession which has mixed reviews. Part of your decision-making process needs to take into account whether you want the convenience of being inside the park. I%26#39;m sorry I don%26#39;t hav any experience with Owl%26#39;s Nest Lodges but if you do a keyword search on Fish Camp in this forum and the Yosemite forum you%26#39;ll find some posters who have mentioned their experiences in Fish Camp.

True- Yosemite Lodge is basically a motel, but a very nice one (esp in their deluxe rooms) and it%26#39;s located smack in the middle of one of the most beautiful spots on earth. There%26#39;s just nothing like waking up to see the morning light shining off the granite cliffs of Yosemite Valley. Visiting Yosemite is about experiencing Yosemite, not the hotel, so to me it%26#39;s worth it to pay for a nice but overpriced motel.

Thanks for your advice guys, I really do appreciate it.

Yes, we made the decision to book Yosemite Lodge because of its great location. I was happy that it would be only basic because the plus side was the location. However, the reviews about lack of housekeeping have scared me! I don%26#39;t understand why the rooms would be left dirty - don%26#39;t the maids want a tip?

I would really like to get a deluxe room if possible but presume it is just pot luck i.e. whatever you are allocated on arrival. If anyone knows if I can influence the allocation, plesae let me know!!
