Anaheim without a car

Hi Happytraveller,

We visited the USA in May this year and were a little daunted by the traffic driving on the oposite side of the road.

We stayed in Anaheim for 7 nights and used the OCTA (public) bus system to get around. We went to a couple of Malls, a discount Disney warehouse, Knotts Berry farm etc. The OCTA bus system has fares of $3 per person per day and you can get on and off as many times as you want.

We stayed at the Annabella on Katella Ave and there was a bus stop right next door. The best thing to do is grab a timetable book (from behind the driver) it gives you maps, times etc.

We went on an organised combined tour of Hollywood/ Universal studios but thought it wasn%26#39;t enough time in either of the places. There is a train station at Universal so you might be able to catch the train there?

What you want to do is totally do-able. Take the plunge and have a great time!!!

Thanks for your replies!It%26#39;s great to see that at least ONE person has done it without driving-lol!I will start my research now into what is on offer /realistic for us and take it from there-thanks again!

Hi happytraveller,

Yes you can do what you suggest by public transit. Here is a website link that may help your research. I hope you have a great time!

I was going to say that it is unrealistic, but I am from SoCal and can%26#39;t be separated from my car for a single day.

Glad to hear our public transportation isn%26#39;t as hopeless as I%26#39;d thought :-)

Thanks for the advice and info!
