From reading prior posts, it is my understanding that Tioga Pass is very likely to still be closed during May 21-30th. Can anyone tell me the likelihood of 108 being opened during that time? Would that be recommended route to take from Yosemite to Bodie then to Death Valley? Thanks.
Sonora to Bridgeport in late May
I checked out google, and other traveler reports indicated that Hwy 108 reopened on Wednesday, May 25th last year. Since they were planning to use it, I guess that would be the recommended route. That was a month earlier than Tioga Pass last year, so it looks pretty hopeful.

Yes, that would work if Sonora Pass is open. Hwy 108 comes in north of Bridgeport, and Bodie is 7 miles south of Bridgeport. After Bodie, go back the same way to Hwy 395 to Lone Pine for Death Valley. The road to Bodie is paved except for the last three miles. The other road from Bodie is best traveled with 4 wheel drive and not recommended.
