Downtown hotels for options for out-of-town wedding guests

Hi -

Our reception is at the Bristol. However, we want to provide 2 or 3 options for places to stay downtown.

I live here but am not familiar with the hotels. I don%26#39;t even know where to begin.

any suggestions?

I would recommend a range for guests. Maybe something by the bay (hyatt/marriott), something unique to the gaslamp area (horton grand), and then something cheapo (can%26#39;t think of an example but you konw, just search for the cheapest or call to score some deals)
