Carlsbad Weather

My family and I will be traveling to Carlsbad the second week of May this year. Not sure if we will have good enough weather to enjoy the ocean/water.

If anyone could give any insight into Carlsbad%26#39;s climate this time of year it would be greatly appreciated.

Carlsbad Weather

I would say think springtime and layers. It can be anywhere from 60s-70s. After the sun goes down it is always a little cool. You will need a light jacket or sweat shirt and long pants.The morning at the coast is some times cloudy. We call it May gray. Then the clouds burn off(usually )and the sun is out. The weather is warmer and sunnier away from the coast. They actually give 4 different forecasts every day:coast,inland(10mi. in),mountains,desert. If you%26#39;re not happy where you are drive to another spot for better weather. The ocean is always cold(60s or lower) until summer. Some people go in anyway. Some wear wet suits.
