Best Way to Get From OAK Airport to San Fran

How hard is it for 2 people WITH luggage to take BART from Oakland Airport to Montgomery St in SF on a Sunday afternoon? Specifically.

Easier to take a cab, or would BART be a good idea?

Thanks.

the trains are shorter on the weekends, but luggage is still doable. If you have two checkin size suitcases that have wheels, BART will save you money for a nice dinner. Check BART%26#39;s website for schedule info. $2 for the AIR Shuttle bus and wait for a direct train to San Fran.

Oh, it%26#39;s do-able, of course but in my opinion, it depends on how much luggage you have. Suitcases on wheels will definitely make life easier.

Personally, I am a creature of convenience so personally, the money for a cab would be worth it to me, but if you%26#39;re on a budget or you don%26#39;t mind it being slightly more ';work'; go for it. It is quite easy to do and the cost is quite low.

Trains run every 20 minutes on Sundays. Allow about the same amount of time (maximum) to wait for a shuttle bus to the BART station to the airport. The actual bus ride is probably about 15 minutes and the train ride into SF is about 20 minutes.

I%26#39;ve done the two-people with luggage scenario and it%26#39;s not hard. It looks like this:

Walk out of baggage claim and look for BART shuttle ticket machine inside the terminal. Buy two $2 tickets. Walk outside to the center island and wait for the BART shuttle. Board the bus with your luggage.

Get off at the Coliseum BART station. Bring luggage into station, buy 2 BART tickets for the fare amount ($3.35 each, in this case, to Montgomery Station). Place luggage through the gate next to the station agent%26#39;s booth. Feed BART ticket into turnstile, pass through, retrieve luggage.

Go upstairs, following directions to the correct platform (or ask the agent to be sure). Wait for train.

Exit train at Montgomery Station. Repeat the luggage/turnstile/ticket routine. Take escalator or elevator up.

See www.bart.gov for information. Use their trip planner to see train schedule on your arrival day, and fare. You need to choose departure station as Coliseum/Airport and arrival station as Montgomery Street.
