The Sir Francis Drake is across the street from the Chancellor, the Westin St. Francis is across the street in the opposite direction, the Pan Pacific is a block away as is the Prescott... There are tons of hotels in the same general area.

It depends on the store. Some of them (not average) close as early as 6 (this is more prevelant on Sunday) and most are open until at least 9:00.
