driver/cab co. recommendations?

My husband and I are interested in hiring a driver on Sunday, Feb 19, to bring us from winery to winery, so that we can do several tastings without having to worry about driving (we%26#39;d prefer not to take the wine shuttle). Any recommendations for cab/driver companies? We don%26#39;t want a ';limo';, just something safe! Thanks!

There are a lot of great drivers in the area, one that I always go through is a guy named George, he owns Napa Valley Chauffers. You can look him up online. He has a great relationship with everyone in the valley. He has a very nice sedan car, so it isn%26#39;t flashy but comfortable. He will set up your itinerary and he is worth every penny. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip. In case George isn%26#39;t available, any thoughts on Napa Valley Cab?

Tango-

Many of the limo companies have sedans which rent for less than their larger cars-- *and* these town cars will cost you much, much less than a cab.

You can easily put 100+ miles on a car in a day here, zipping between wineries. Most of the limo cos rent for a minimum of 4 hours, at $55 an hour or so ($250-$280, w/taxes + gratuities).

In comparison, riding a cab around for 4 hours will run you a LOT more than this (which is why you%26#39;ll usually see folks only using cabs for short hops).

Sunday is only three days away, *and* it%26#39;s a holiday weekend--Virtually all of our favorite drivers have been booked up for weeks, so you may need to call several companies before you find one that still has a town car left.

Google ';napa limo';-- you%26#39;ll get tons of places.

For those who read this thread and have more advance notice (at least a few weeks), call your innkeeper where you%26#39;re staying, and tell them what type of driver you%26#39;re looking for-- is it someone who really knows the back roads, or perhaps you want a driver with lots of tour guide experience who can tell you lots about the different wineries.

Or, perhaps you have your itinerary and tour appts all set, and all you need is someone to get you there.

Whatever you need, call your innkeeper and see what they recommend-- we see lots of drivers, and can steer you away from the stinkers.

Have a great time in the wine country :)
