Looking for B&B in Sonoma Valley, please, here's my wish...

My husband and I are planning our 10th Anniversary with a trip to SF (4-5 nights) and wine country (3 nights) in June. We would very much like to stay in a REAL B%26amp;B--cozy Victorian with great owners, homemade breakfasts, beautifully decorated rooms. Restaurants are VERY important to us, so we definitely want to stay in an area near many good ones to choose from, which has led us to primarily consider staying in Sonoma (the city), but we are open to other areas. Ideally we would be close enough to walk to restaurants and town square. This is more important to us than very close proximity to wineries, as we would probably spend the day driving around to the vineyards.

Do you have any suggestions for us? I have browsed some of the listings and haven%26#39;t found our ideal spot yet. Would we be better off staying in the Napa Valley area? Thanks in advance for your help.

I%26#39;d check out McArthur Place, havne%26#39;t stayed three yet, but it looks really nice and is walking distance to the shops/restaurants on the Sonoma Square. It sounds just what you%26#39;re looking for!

You may also want to check into the small, elegant Ledson Hotel, located right on the Sonoma Square.

You may also want to consider staying in the pretty town of Healdsburg which is at the no. end of Sonoma County. Superb restaurants all around, and a short drive to wonderful wineries in the Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys. I%26#39;d recommend a stay at the Grape Leaf Inn (wwww.grapeleafinn.com), a Queen Anne Victorian, loc%26#39;d 4 blks from the charming Healdsburg Plaza area where you%26#39;ll find unique shops (inc. the Plaza Farms complex which sells local products), galleries and wine tasting. The Grape Leaf Inn also inc%26#39;s a great ';guests only'; wine tasting in the owners%26#39; hidden ';Speakeasy';--it%26#39;s great fun!
