There are two in my opinion - Filippi%26#39;s right in Little Italy downtown - love the authentic Italian atmosphere - love their veggie special. In Solana Beach, it%26#39;s the Pizza Port, they have tables right on Highway 101 and I love to sit and watch the traffic go by and again, great pizza!

Another vote for Filippi%26#39;s. I%26#39;ve been going there for decades. I%26#39;ve had friends from Europe who say they feel like they%26#39;re in Italy when I take them there.

Chissis,I know it is not the best,but have you tried Pizza Nova in SB?..For me,being a native New Yorker(and Paesano),if I don%26#39;t see the guy,flip the dough in the air,it ain%26#39;t pizza.....DonTony,help us out..

Depends where you are from....if you are from the Northeast, no question Bronx Pizza (Hillcrest) and Luigi%26#39;s (Golden Hill) serve excellent pizza and sell it by the slice. In fact, the owner at Luigi%26#39;s used to work at Bronx...if you are from Chicago, you%26#39;ll probably opt for a deep dish style....Fillipi%26#39;s is OK, but being an ex NY%26#39;er, far too much cheese relative to the sauce for me.

Tough to find great pizza on the west coast. Had a pizza owner back east tell me the reason is because of the water. For all you rookies the water mixes with pizza dough to help make pizza dough. The best I have found has been is a place called Bronx pizza on Washington St.
