Here is my plan. The only thing I cant decide on is weather or not to go to Healdsburg for two nights or to go to Point reyes for the first night and drive through bogoda bay and russian river valley and spend second night in Healdsburg
or to skip Healsburg and point Reyes altogether and spend two night somewhere else
I%26#39;m only concerned with the first four nights. I like to explore lots of things. What do you think is a more memorable and and adventurous experience. I will be seeing lots of the coast for the rest of the trip ButI don%26#39;t know how special the coast (B Bay and PR at that time of year) compared to the inland wine co. Do you think Healdburg is the best location to make as a base if I spent the first two night in the the wine country?
I live in San Diego so I won%26#39;t get up to this area agin soon.
Please feel free to comment on rest of plan.
I%26#39;ve tried to cover all the alternatives. Please just make a decision for me ( but tell me why) so I can move on to making reservations. I%26#39;m hopelessly stuck.
Thanks so much!

adamhornet, travelngal,winechef,forrestvillian You are...Totally agree - those four are awesome!
Some suggestions on the 4 first nights:
1) Pt. Reyes - Perhaps stay at Black Thorne Inn.

2) Then take the drive along Highway 1 and check into either the Bodega Bay Lodge or Inn at the Tides in Bodega Bay for 2 nights.

....On the second day explore the Russian River winery area;
1) Armstrong Redwoods State Park
2) Drive down Westside Road and visit the many wineries there

3) Explore and have dinner in Healdsburg at one of the nice restaurants and then return to Bodega Bay.
Staying in Bodega Bay will put you in great position for your next day to drive up the coast as it is also on Highway 1. The Sonoma coast is wonderful and its a pretty drive to the wineries in the Russian River area.)
On the drive up to Mendocino, you might want to stop again and stay at perhaps Sea Ranch or other place along that stretch.

adamhornet, travelngal,winechef,forrestvillian You are...kenmyron,
Having fallen in love with Mendocino and the northern Californian coast, we are heading back further north to Oregon %26amp; Washington this October so we would love to hear a report on your trip especially the part along The Oregon coast. We are staying in B%26amp;B%26#39;s in Pacific City %26amp; Florence which should give us at least half a day in and around Newport.
