I am going to be staying at Venice Beach next Saturday night. I am looking for casual restaurants and casual night spots in the area. This is my first time in the Los Angeles area.
Venice Beach
Where are you staying in Venice? Will you have a car? There are two main areas with a variety of restaurants:
1. Main Street from Marine Street in the north to Brooks Ave (which is also Abbot Kinney in the southeasterly direction)
2. Abbot Kinney from a couple of blocks south of the above intersection to Venice Blvd on the south,
Check out mapquest.com and type in ';abbot kinney bl %26amp; Main street'; (without the quotation marks (on the line for the street address. For the city and state, put in Venice and CA. The red star will be the dividing point for the two areas with restaurants/bars.
Good luck!
Venice Beach
Main Street has lots of casual restaurants and night spots. There%26#39;s the Circle Bar (drinks only), World Cafe (restaurant and fun bar scene), Chaya Venice (more expensive restaurant/bar), Schatzi (owned by Arnold Schwarzenegger, famous for it%26#39;s cigar lounge), Fro Bar, and many, many more bars/restaurants within a six block strip.
Just walk up and down Main Street and wander into the one that you like - no reservations required (for the restaurants that serve dinner at the bar, too, no reservation needed).
