The 5 Hour SF Shuttle Tour?

Checking out the SF 5 hour comprehensive Shuttle Tour for 55$ for adults sounds great. How long do you stop in Sausalito for lunch? Do you feel rushed? If you have used them compared to other tour companies please advise. Thanks

The 5 Hour SF Shuttle Tour?

Yeah, it%26#39;s a really good tour. We took it 4 weeks ago and enjoyed it a lot. I think the reasons why we like it so much is...

They use a mini-bus. It wasn%26#39;t crowded as the other options we found in SF.

They have an additional tour guide as well as a driver. Their guide got out of the bus often.

They made lots of stops.

They went to Sausalito and we thought the ferry cruise was the best part.

We stayed in Sausalito, a small mediterranean village for about 1 hour and 15 minutes for lunch and some shopping. If you ask me I thought that was plenty of time, because I wanted to get over to the GG Bridge for pictures.

Basically, after some research online we felt that this was the best tour before we ordered tickets and then we found out it really was.

We recommend it. BTW: There is a good place for fish and chips in Sausalito - I am sorry I don%26#39;t remember their name.

Thanks for the info on the shuttle tour. I think I will book online for our 2nd day there and then we will know where to go on our own. Did you tanke any other tours in or around SF that you thought was worth the $. How many days were your there? Sweater/jacket in the evening but during the day a sweatshirt was fine? :)

Yeah, we went on this tour and we thought is was really unique and well done. I really recommend it if you want a great SF experience. Here is why...

They use a small mini-bus so it really wasn%26#39;t crowded compared to the other tour buses we saw around about in the city.

They had a tour guide and a driver and the guide got out with us and did mini walking tours around the landmark.

Made lots of stops. We seemed to get out of the bus very often which we enjoyed because we didn%26#39;t want to drive by everything.

We thought the ferry cruise to Sausalito was the best part of the tour! Lots of fun. I found out from a family member that the ferry from the Ferry Building is longer and has better views than the ones from Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf.

Once you get to Sausalito ask your tour guide about this great fish and chips place - sorry I don%26#39;t remember the name of the place.

To answer your specific question, we stopped in Sausalito for 1 hour and 15 minutes which I thought was ample time because I wanted to get a move on anyways. You may feel the same way.

I hope this helps...we do recommend this tour!

I am so sorry, I didn%26#39;t see that my post went through...so I had to retype it all. I was so mad and then when I saw that it did go through now I am even more disturbed.

But oh well, I am glad to help...(twice).

We were in SF for just 3 days. We went to the wine country in a rental car...no tours.

Definitely, a jacket especially a wind breaker in case it rains. What%26#39;s good about the SF weather is that on rainy days it only rains for about 4 hours and then clears right up.

We didn%26#39;t go on other tours, but we did see the tour buses and they were much bigger. One of the red buses was a double decker which really seemed to pack in the people.

Thanks Shawn for the info I am set on booking this tour. no worries about the double entries. Was it your first time in SF? Did you find alot of great reasonable places for dinner? Any suggestions? Did you stay at U. Square or F Wharf? We are staying at the HI EXpress by the wharf. Thanks for any other info.

Someone from an earlier post said ';Kuletta%26#39;s'; and it was good. We went to ';Cha cha cha'; in the Haight/Ashbury area - which was the most fun because we got drunk on really good Sangria. The SF shuttle tours guide mentioned this to us...we were quite hesitant about the area, but it really was a lot of fun in the Haight/Ashbury area.

This was our second trip to SF, the last time we regrettably didn%26#39;t do much tour stuff other than Alcatraz. We%26#39;re glad we got out to the city this time, because all- in-all it%26#39;s better than Alcatraz (but I am sure some people will fight me on that one.)

I forgot to answer two of your questions...We stayed at the Hyatt Regency near the Ferry Building. We heard the Harbour Court Hotel near there was good too. Not too expensive.

Near the Ferry Building, financial district, you can also try staying at...

Guest Quarters

Park Hyatt Hotel

Omni

Hotel Vitale

If you go their individual websites you can find specials that are as low as some of the cheaper city hotels.

Here is a page from the shuttle tour company that lists some hotels...but you can probably find better ones, travelocity, cheap tickets. I used this page because it listed hotels near the Ferry Building (a great place to go visit!)

Off to France tomorrow...have a good time!

I am glad to see someone went on this tour because I was just getting started on looking for a bus tour. Thanks for posting the details.

You will really like the Holiday Inn Express FW.
