Carnival/Mardi Gras in SF?

Is anything happening in San Francisco to celebrate Carnival/Mardi Gras? I arrive on Thursday and would love to find a celebration to attend.

Hey we are going to be there too. We are from South Louisiana and would love to find some kind of Mardi Gras celebration. We are bringing beads!!!!

This has already been posted --use the search function to see what has already been said or perhaps check out sfgate.com or sfweekly.

Mardi Gras really isn%26#39;t big here. Our ';Mardi Gras'; would be gay pride week in June or Halloween.

Any Mardi Gras celebration you manage to find with be nothing like the celebrations in Louisiana.

There are Mardis Gras and Carnaval events, ussually in clubs with a lineup of music, and for the former, some obligatory bead throwing.

If you%26#39;re from Louisiana, I just have the feeling the events will be faint reminders of Mardis Gras.

The organizers of Carnaval, who used to wait until the warmer month of May to celebrate a delayed celebration, recently started moving it up, and into a different event. So Roccapulco nightclub in the Mission District is the site of one celebration:

There%26#39;s another event on Feb. 28 at the Great American Music Hall. Read it and see if it%26#39;s your idea of a Mardis Gras celebration:

NO- nothing going on in SF for Mardi Gras to speak of. COme back on Halloween and go to the Castro. That is our Mardi Gras...
