San Diego in June with 2 kids

We%26#39;re considering a one-week trip to San Diego in mid-June with our two children, 3 %26amp; 6. I%26#39;m thinking that we would rent a 2 bedroom condo rather than stay in a hotel suite, but I';d love advice about location. Mission Beach? Mission Bay? Is the bayside only for boating activities, or can children play in the water and at the beach?

Any advice on what would make sense? We don%26#39;t mind a certain degree of bustle and activity, and we%26#39;d love to be able to walk to restaurants, etc. But late-night partying within earshot would be a definite minus.

If you rent in the area called Mission Beach you will be able to walk to the beach or the bay. There are beaches and children can play on the bayside. There are also some playgrounds. I think the bay side is quieter. You never know for sure who is going to rent next door to you so there is always the chance that party people will be around. Either way the area is nice.

At Mission bay, there are no restaruants within walking distance. We stayed in the Hillcrest area with tons of great restaraunts, but drive to beach.

If you could find an affordable condo in Coronado bay, that would be ideal. Beach and restaraunts close. Easy drive to zoo and other activities.

NOt true about restaurants . If you are in MIssion Beach area the bay and beach are only 2-3 blocks apart and there are restaurants.

The bayside is much better for kids - quieter and away from the throngs loud crowds. The Catamarran is a very nice hotel, and they have some fun water activities and rentals. You%26#39;d be far enough off the bar party-zone as well.

Many thanks! All very helpful. I%26#39;ll look into the Catamaran, and also into rentals in Mission Bay.
