how much will it cost to take a taxi from lax to hollywood

taxi fare

Very high. It is $38 to downtown. I would guess the same or higher.

taxi fare

Hi welshgirl,

As the prior poster said the taxi fare would be very high if you%26#39;re traveling by yourself. If you%26#39;re traveling by yourself, there are shuttle companies that will take you there for much lower price, but you might have to wait for other passengers to be left off first. Popular shuttle companies in the Los Angeles area include SuperShuttle and Prime Time Shuttle.

Prime Time Shuttle%26#39;s local website is http://www.primetimeshuttle.com/SoCal.htm

SuperShuttle%26#39;s local website is www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/lax.htm

Hi, I accidentally posted twice--sorry!

I%26#39;m not too sure where in ';hollywood'; you are going to, and it is a large area, so I%26#39;ll pick somewhere in the middle of it, where tourists are likely to go: the famous ';Hollywood and Vine'; intersection.

According to:

http://maps.google.com

It%26#39;s exactly 15.2 miles from Los Angeles International Airport (';LAX';) to the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

According to:

http://www.lawa.org/lax/

There are four taxi companies that service LAX. I%26#39;ll pick one at random. According to ';L.A. Taxi/United Checker Cab%26#39;s'; web site:

http://www.la-taxi.com/

The fare would be $34.90. This does not take into consideration a tip or the $0.20 you%26#39;ll pay for each thirty-two seconds you spend stuck in traffic.

For about the same price you could rent a car for the whole day. For most travellers, Los Angeles is easier and less expensive with a rental car.
