Weather + Restaurants

Visiting 8th - 13th September for the first time.

What is the weather likely to be like during the day and at night?

When foggy does it tend to hover out in the bay or come inland?

Doing the evening trip to Alcatraz is it likely to be cold enough to take a jacket or will w sweater do?

Would like please, some restaurant suggestions for the Sat night, romantic, good food, views, lively (maybe live music)central location etc... and where they won%26#39;t hurry you out.

Weather + Restaurants

In San Francisco, in the morning, it%26#39;s foggy at least on the west side of the city, and most of the time, on the east side (where the bay and Downtown is). Usually, the fog at least burns off on the east side, and if you%26#39;re lucky, it burns off on the west side too. If the fog is covering all of SF itself, it%26#39;s usually hovering over the bay and some cities on the East Bay that borders the bay, such as Oakland and Berkeley. It usually burns off there before San Francisco. Really far inland, it%26#39;s usually sunny, unless there%26#39;s some local valley fog. Right now, it%26#39;s been REALLY foggy, and I haven%26#39;t seen sun in San Francisco for more than a week now. By the time you come, it%26#39;ll be the start of the hottest, sunniest time of the year in San Francisco, you might actually wake up to days where it%26#39;s completely sunny and there%26#39;s no fog at all.

You%26#39;ll need a jacket when you go on the evening Alcatraz tour. It colder on the water, and SF is already cold as it is. In addition, the wind might be blowing in.

In terms of restaurants, there are too many suggestions. I guess narrow to what kind of food, how much you want to spend, etc., and I can give you some suggestions.

Weather + Restaurants

Dress in Layers! Just like in London, I wore jeans everyday and either a short sleeve short or a thin long sleeve shirt. I carried a sweatshirt or fleece with me. It%26#39;s cooler in the mornings and evenings depending on where you are. Closer to the water it is cooler. I took a backpack and put on warmer clothes as it cooled off and took my sweatshirt off as it got warmer. It was still overall nice weather. I had just visited London and England in late March so I was prepared on the layer thing. Enjoy!

the restaurant that fits that description is Jardinierre

RS3Sport , AggieO %26amp; Yogachik

Thanks for the advise. Somebody in London recomended a reataurant called Lulu and the Tonga bar and Foreign Film . Any good and where are these places please?

Also where is Jardinierre and how can I book it?

Any ideas for bars /restaurants with live music appealing to young mid to the late 40%26#39;s crowd.

Last question....I%26#39;ve heard that there are some dinky little electric cars for self drive tours of San Francisco. Where can I find info on this and do how you rate it?
