National Parks Pass?

I have heard that you can purchase a pass for $50 which enables you to enter all parks. Does anyone know about this as we are planning to visit Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Sequoia, Death Valley and Grand Canyon and think it may be a cheaper option than paying each entrance fee.

National Parks Pass?

If you go to nps.gov, you can check the fees for each park. Considering your list, you%26#39;ll come out at least $10 ahead. You also get the ';owners manual';, a small booklet that has regional maps and contact info. It used to include a subscription to a Parks newsletter. Since it looks like you%26#39;ll be covering a lot of territory, there are other NPS sites along the way, so you%26#39;ll have an opportunity to save some more $$.

Another fun thing to have is the ';Passport to Your National Parks';--you can stamp it at the visitor centers. It has places for stickers and also a fold-out map.

National Parks Pass?

Hi

Definitely get a National Parks pass. I know I will when I get over there in May, and I have done in the past. Can save you a lot of money. I think the entrance fee for the Grand Canyon is now $20, so you do the maths.

Enjoy your trip.

Tony

hi stepmac - yes, get the pass. it%26#39;ll be a savings and makes life less complicated. and -dc- mentioned the parks ';passport';, it%26#39;s great fun to get them stamped - i%26#39;ve been doing it for years as i travel all across the u.s. and its a lovely souvenir.

happy travels

You can pre-purchase your pass online at https://buy.nationalparks.org/. If you visit a national park more than 3 times in a year, the annual pass @ $50 is a sure value! If you qualify as seniors, you can get an even better lifetime deal.

Just wondering if the automobile entrance fee ($20?) is in addition to the entrance fee of $10 per person to Yosemite?

Thanks

No the fee is just for your car- I think the per person fee is only if you walk into a National Park. BTW you can buy the passes right at the entrance gate to any National Park you visit.

Agree with everyone else - get the pass. Best way from the UK is to buy it at the gate of the the first park you visit. Take cash.

Have fun.

Thanks Macjack. Do you know if it%26#39;s possible then to drive into the park, park it somewhere (is there a parking fee involved?) and take the free shuttles within the park?

Couldn%26#39;t seem to find the information from the np website.

Thanks again :)

Yosemite and Grand Canyon have free shuttles in the most popular part of the park. (GC along the south rim and Yosemite in the valley). They don%26#39;t take you everywhere you will want to go, you%26#39;ll need your car for certain things but they are very useful. We spent two car free days in Yosemite, parked in day parking, no fee, and used our car the third day. Sequoia/King%26#39;s Canyon and Death Valley you are on your own and definitely need a car to get around.

Thanks for your reply VickiSoCal, appreciated :)
