Hotel help

My husband and I are going to CA Jan 20 -31st for my sisters 50th birthday. My sister lives in Whittier and I am looking for some place that is safe, clean and relatively close to her home. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I%26#39;d choose Buena Park or Anaheim.....

Buena Park is 9 miles away; while Anaheim is 19 miles away.

Since you are staying several days (I am assuming you have a car) I think staying close to the resort areas in either of these areas would be nice for the stay.

In Buena Park, recommend Hampton Inn and Suites.

In Anaheim, recommend Sheraton Anaheim or Candycane Inn.

Buena Park puts you close to Knotts Chicken dinners, Knotts Berry Farms, Medieval Times, Movieland Wax Museum, Ripleys, and the new Pirates adventure (not yet opened but supposed to be this autumn.

Anaheim puts you close to Disneyland, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney.

If you prefer to stay in Whittier instead, recommend:

Vagabond Inn if you want to stay even closer to your sisters.

Have a nice trip!

I would agree with mini and say stay down in Orange County. Fullerton and Fountain Valley are also decent cities. That way you%26#39;re just 20 minutes or so from your sister and about 20 minutes away from Disneyland or a decent beach (not that its beach weather then, but still cool to see) like Huntington or Seal Beach.

Thank you for your help.

Do you know how long it takes to go from LA to San Francisco area and should we consider doing this for a couple days?

Depends on traffic, but if you take the most direct route (the 5 freeway), it%26#39;s about a 6 hour drive (without traffic). If you take the scenic route, it can be an 8 hour drive (without traffic).

It%26#39;s definitely doable for a two day trip, but you should leave Los Angeles by 6AM.

The Vagabond Inn on Whittier Blvd. in Whittier is safe, clean, and close. My brother just stayed there last week and enjoyed it. It is withing walking distance of several restaurants, and large shopping centers are within close driving distance. It is a three story property with NO elevators though. If you have mobility problems be sure not to get a room on the third floor.

';Do you know how long it takes to go from LA to San Francisco area?';

About an hour on a plane.

By car, the fastest route takes about six or seven hours, depending on traffic.
