Has anyone stayed here? Is it worth the money? How long is the walk to the beach?

Marriott's Newport Coast Villas

Hi. I haven%26#39;t stayed at the Marriott Newport Coast villas because I live about a couple of miles from there. We ride our bicycles past it frequently, so know the location well.

The villas are located on Newport Coast Drive which runs uphill from Pacific Coast Highway between Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach. The villas are not walking distance from the beach - my guess is that it is probably around a mile to the beach. The villas overlook Crystal Cove State Park, which has spectacular beaches. So you walk downhill, then through the park, and walk down to the beach. There are no concessions at this beach. Bicycling would make it convenient, but it is a significant uphill on the return.

You are also close to Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beaches.

Laguna Beach is an attractive beach for a vacationer. Lots of restaurants, shops, galleries etc. and it is about 4-5 miles from the villas.

Corona Del Mar is very popular too, only one concession stand and restrooms on the beach, but a short walk from Coast Highway where there are some great restaurants.

Marriott's Newport Coast Villas

I live locally, but have stayed at the NCMV many times. they are beautiful. I actually stayed in one of the two bedroom villas on my wedding night.

All villas are well equipped with everything you need. The kitchen is stocked with everything if you chose to cook ';at home';. There is a small marketplace located in the lobby where you can get your morning coffee and anything else you might need.

The rooms are very nice and the beds are quite comfortable. We had a view of the main pool and ocean for our wedding night.

It%26#39;s a bit of a trek to the beach, but as proff said, Crystal Cove beach is great. Bring a sack lunch though.

Laguna is a great ';beach city'; and has a lot to offer. Big Corona is a fun beach as well. Just up the coast is Newport Beach, Huntington Beach etc. All about 15 - 30 minutes away (by car).

I love the NCMV and would highly recommend them.
