I%26#39;m booking a trip to San Francisco for my family (just me and my parents). We%26#39;d like to go in October, and we%26#39;ve been there a couple of times before (way back in the 80s). We%26#39;d like to stay at a hotel close to Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf, since we%26#39;ll probably spend most of our time in that area. Are there any particular hotels you would recommend? Mid-price would be great.
Hotels near Fisherman's Wharf?
I can%26#39;t really recommend one hotel near Fisherman%26#39;s wharf, because I haven%26#39;t stayed there.
And depends how much you will spend on the room.

Hotels near Fisherman's Wharf?
Best Western Tuscan Inn was nice. The rooms a bit small for a family of four - but clean %26amp; quiet. The location can%26#39;t be beat. A block from the cable car turnaround, 2 blocks from Fishermans Wharf. We got the best deal calling the hotel directly.
I%26#39;ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites several times and would highly recommend it. The Holiday Inn Express is a different hotel than the Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf Holiday Inn and in my opinion is much nicer. The HI Express is relatively new, nicely decorated and very clean. The free continental breakfast is a bonus. This is not a luxury hotel but is a great mid-priced choice, given what hotels in this area tend to go for. The location is ideal for Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf as you are at the quieter end at night (i.e, not at the Ghirardelli Square end of the Wharf). I have always felt safe at this hotel and in this part of the Wharf.
There are other hotels in the Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf area that have gotten good reviews on this site (example, the Argonaut Hotel which is more upscale and the Marriott Hotel at Columbus and North Point. Check out the reviews of hotels at this site for more information.
My bet would be the Best Western Tuscan Inn ... we%26#39;ve stayed there a few times and have NEVER been disappointed ... please read the comments that the Trip Advisor has on that hotel ... for the $$$ it%26#39;s perfect ... especially the wine hour !!!!
Oh yuck. I can%26#39;t think of a much worse area to stay. Even the motels on Lombard are in a better neighborhood.
But if you insist on staying here then you really should go on priceline and bid 3* Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf. You will get the same chain hotels at 1/2 the price. Look at the reviews and you%26#39;ll see that there is not much difference.
i think as a tourist the wharf is a great place to stay. for some reason the locals hate it. anyway we loved the raddisson. great location nice rooms etc
Thanks for the comments! We%26#39;d like to stay at Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf because we loved it--the stores, restaurants, and the overall vibe of the area.
Thanks for the suggestions on mid-price hotels; how about more expensive? We%26#39;re fairly open to anything. Has anyone stayed at the Argonaut?
We stayed at the Argonaut and loved it. The location is great and some rooms have views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. The rooms are fairly large and should be enough space for three people, but they do have suites as well.
