What is the best room to stay in?

The St. Francis has 1195 rooms but the best room would be the Windsor Suite where Queen Elisabeth stayed when she visited San Francisco in 1983.
It%26#39;s 2 bedrooms, 1744 square feet, and it%26#39;s only $3300/night

Other than that room, you can try and ask for a corner room, in the tower, on the North-East side and as high as possible. That%26#39;s where I would stay since my budget doesn%26#39;t allow Sean%26#39;s suggestion.
Our friends like to stay in the ';old'; section as you get a view of Union Square. We prefer the new section. Not a great view but the rooms are bigger and have better sound proofing. MG
Definitely go for the newer part of the hotel and on a high floor. The old parts of the hotel can be okay but some rooms are SO tiny, even by SF standards. Whatever you do make sure your room doesn%26#39;t face the ';courtyard'; at least in the older building. The rooms in the courtyard at this hotel face the rooms on the other side of the building and the garbage containers are on the ground level. It%26#39;s not pleasant.
