handicapped /need help to figure out the walking distance

Would like to surprise my daughter with trip to Disney for her Birthday but am worried about all the walking as I am a leg amputee, I can walk but would prefer not to wear myself out before I get into the actual park and some of the hotels have such extensive grounds that just walking from your room on the back lot to the shuttle is a fair distance. Any suggestions on hotels that the shuttle stops on the property or should we be renting a car - seems silly when we won%26#39;t be going anywhere but disneyland. So far (after sitting on my computer all day) I have narrowed it down to a choice between the HoJo, the Candy Cane Inn, The Portofino Inn and Suites, and the Anabella Hotel which seems like a really pretty place but not sure of the location, any advice is appreciated.

The Annabella is quite nice %26amp; has an ART pickup at the front of the hotel. If you sent an email to management I%26#39;m sure they would be able to place you in one of the rrom towards the front of the hotel. If you are in the back rooms they have a golf buggy type of vehicle which could collect you from your room to take you to the reception area.

I had friends stay at the candy cane inn and they really liked it, plus it is right next door to disneyland. Let them know at the desk of your disability and most hotels will help out on transportation. Walking is going to be your biggest concern. I would get a little driveable scooter in the park and save your walking for downtown disney and the hotel grounds, plus you don%26#39;t have to trouble anyone to push you around. If you rent a car, disney is very good at location for disabled parking and the like. You might want to rent a car, because there are other things to do and they are not close to disney.

You want to stay at the Best Western Park Place,it is right on the crosswalk to the main gate. If you look on Disney.com at the map for Good Neighbor hotels, you can gauge the diatances of the other hotels usung the BWPP as a reference. The HOJO is quite a ways father up Harbor, I%26#39;m not an amputee and I%26#39;m too tired to walk that far after a day in the park! There are about 3 Best Westerns ringing the park so make sure you get the Park Place Inn %26amp; mini Siutes.

Eceryone keeps recommending the Candy Cane, I used to stay there as a little girl but haven%26#39;t been in years. I%26#39;ll be checking it out next time Im down there!
