Kids are getting married at Valhalla on June 30th and looking for suggestions for a different plan for rehearsal dinner for approx 50-60 people? Anyone knowing the area and have unique suggestions for locations or activities that would be ';economical'; and unique please advise. We are Easteners needing help! Thanks, JB
Wanting to plan a rehearsal dinner in South Lake TahoeHow about a box-lunch picnic lakeside for dinner, if you are informal? There are local stores (Safeway, maybe Raley%26#39;s) that make good sandwiches, or you can order fried chicken or chinese food from their delis in amounts for catering that are reasonably priced. Or see if some of the restaurants can dish something up in catering trays that wouldn%26#39;t be a pain for you. Then go picnic at the park in South Lake Tahoe, grassy area, lakefront, at the picnic tables. Or have people bring towels, and go to Pope Beach and sit on that gorgeous sand. There are lovely walking trails and picnic areas that are free.
Or call Valhalla and ask the locals there. They would have good ideas!
Just...don%26#39;t go to Horizon for their cheap buffet...yuck! (On the other hand, Harrah%26#39;s buffet on the 19th floor at sunset is spectacular, but $26 each, but the food and view is excellent).
Good luck!
Wanting to plan a rehearsal dinner in South Lake TahoeI thought Harrah was $15. How much are buffet at Horizon and Harrah?
Thanks.
You could go on a paddlewheeler dinner cruise on the lake (M.S. Dixie or Tahoe Queen). Also, The Tudor Pub/Dory%26#39;s Oar does many wedding affairs and catering including bigger groups.
Ahh, I forgot about the paddlewheeler! I think that is a great suggestion! I also love Sunnyside, but that is in Tahoe City on the North Shore.
The last time we went to Harrah%26#39;s buffet was about 3 years ago, and it was $26 for dinner. But the food was excellent, and the view tremendous.
We just tried Horizon%26#39;s buffet for the first time a few weeks ago. It was $11.99. I was very disappointed. The food was mediocre at best, in my opinion. No, worst than mediocre. Not even as good as Home Town Buffet, which I don%26#39;t dislike, but I find just plain. For $11.99 I could have had a good meal at a local restaurant.
Best wishes!
