Can we watch Navy Seals training?

A friend just told me that when she was in San Diego she was able to watch Navy Seals training on the beach. She wasn%26#39;t sure what beach, if there was a schedule, if she just happened to be there the right day, etc.

Can anyone help me out with this?

I%26#39;ve seen them out on Coronado. You can also watch the Marines practice landing manuevers from the rest stop and viewpoints alond I5 inside Pendelton. There%26#39;s no set schedule, you just get lucky sometimes.

My husband is in Navy special warefare and you can see them doign there thing! You need to go to Coronado beach and then head to the left on the beach toward the hotel Del. Go as far as you can...there will be a guard and won%26#39;t let you go onto the military side. But just have a seat and watch. The guys train early....they start work around 6am. They are out there...but sometimes it is hit or miss whether they are on the sand/water or if a class is even in session. But, you will defiantly see guys running in the morning.

If you have a military ID then you can get on base at tarawa (toward the right) and then around the bend is the beach...park and enjoy.

Thanks so much for the info. A few more questions - How late does the training run? What time do they usually finish? We%26#39;ll be staying in LaJolla and I%26#39;m not sure we can get to Coronado by 6am! My 11-year-old is eager to see the Seals so we%26#39;ll try to figure out a way for him to do so. Also, other than the Midway, are there any tours of active Navy ships open to the public? Thanks again.
