I hope someone can enlighten me. Being and Aussie and reading a reference on a hotel the person described breakfast in detail. One of the dishes was biscuits and gravy!I am not familiar with this so hoping someone could describe this dish to me. MAny thanks
biscuits and gravy?mmm...good stuff! it%26#39;s...well, biscuits with gravy on them. don%26#39;t see it as much in california, i think it%26#39;s more of a midwestern or southern thing.

biscuits and gravy?Shadi,
From what I remember biscuits in the US that go with gravy are kinda like a flat unsweetened scone.
For the info of our American friends ';biscuits'; in Australia are what we call basic cookies (the type you have with milk or a hot drink) hence the slight confusion. Example; here an ORIO is a biscuit and you wouldn%26#39;t want that with gravy!!
Cheers,
Bisuits and gravy - this is a tatse of the southern part of the united states. Think of a moist version of the scone (that being the biscuit part) and gravy is a warm thick topping with either bacon or sausage in it. It is usually white in color and is really pretty good. Biscuits are also eaten with jams, jellies, or preserves on them. An australian version of one would probably have vegemite on it instead.
Yes, I agree with jetranger69!!! Don%26#39;t eat Oreos with gravy. Ew!!! They are much better with milk!! ;)
