Where did you stay in Santa Monica and have you any tips about good/bad things that you experienced on your trip?

Yup. Tons of tips for ya. Just ask me specific questions. We stayed at the Ramada Ltd. the first night (cuz our hostel in Santa Monica was all full and we arrived a day earlier than planned - my husband got off work earlier). We stayed the rest of the time at the Youth Hostel in Santa Monica. It%26#39;s really clean and overgoing some great reno%26#39;s. For $25 a night per person, you really can%26#39;t go wrong. Ok, the rooms were a little small. But 1 block from the beach! Yes, it got HOT at times, but that%26#39;s what we were hoping for...us canadians can never find enough sunshine! We even got on america%26#39;s funniest home videos. They put us front row in the audience.

I really enjoyed looking at your pix. You really captured the essence of LA. The Mel%26#39;s Diner you saw was not the one from American Graffiti however. The movie was shot in San Mateo - a suburb of San Francisco.
