Suggest you take BART to Embarcadero Station. Catch a waiting cab outside Hyatt on Drumm St. Fare would be less than $10 from there. You could exit Powell Station also, but as far as I know, there is no cab stand there, although you may be able to hail one. I don%26#39;t think you want to climb the hill with luggage, or wait for a cable car, let alone drag bags aboard (no easy feat) when you are trying to get settled. Fare from the airport would approach $50, so you are being frugal to use BART, but go easy on yourself. Shuttles are another possibility. They run around $16/person SFO to hotel, but often make a few stops.

The Powell Street Station exit is closer, as previously noted, than the Embarcadero Station. The cab will be a bit cheaper and you don%26#39;t have to go through Financial District traffic the way you would exiting at the Embarcadero.

The taxi-cab stand is one building-length away at the Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel on Cyril Magnin Street. You%26#39;d take the escalator up from the BART turnstiles (just look for daylight) in Hallidie Plaza. Make a sharp left-left 180 degrees (ignoring the cable car line in front of you at the top of the escalator) and look for the hotel directly across the street.

If you don%26#39;t have a lot of luggage, you can go up the stairs in Hallidie Plaza that are next to the SF Visitor%26#39;s Bureau there (just to the left of the cute little cable car coffee bar). The Renaissance Par 55 is just to your left at the top of the stairs.

Thanks for the info, it is our first time here %26amp; we have a 2 1/2 year old as well. I think we will book the shuttle.
